Weekend Things

Weather wise, it’s my favorite time of year. I can just taste spring and its sunny breezy days are most welcome. Traffic wise, it’s the pits. With major events like the Phoenix Open and Spring Training looming, my pretty city is taken over by tourists. Yay economy! Nay for getting into lunch anywhere without an hour-plus wait.

Weekend wise, it means there’s plenty to do. Last weekend, we rode our bikes down to the Civic Center for their weekly concert series, Sunday A’Fair. Actually, we stumbled upon it completely by accident but are intentionally planning on going again soon so we can picnic and enjoy the day. It’s just low key enough that we don’t have to deal with tons of people, near the house and outdoorsy. Win.

This past weekend, I had my family over for a little dinner party and made my favorite short rib recipe. This is one of those labors of love where you don’t want to rush the process. The results are just soo good and ingredient-wise, it’s so simple. I typically make these in a small Le Creuset like this one or my All-Clad.

Plating our own charcuterie boards has also become pretty common around here. They’re so easy to put together and look so pretty. Get a great cheese board like this one or this one and it’s such an easy way to wow guests and the leftovers are good to snack on for days! Plus, they’re perfect for picnicking at the park!

Any fun things we should go check out next weekend? Hope you have a fabulous week!
