I am not the best at slowing down. The fact is, a lot of us are rushed and “busy” and don’t prioritize working on ourselves. If you’re one of those people, you’ll love a Heart and Soul Workshop with Marian Mellen.
I was invited to a Heart and Soul Workshop earlier this year; it was a “Radical Self Love” series at The Teapot in Phoenix (side note: cutest place ever) that included a lovely afternoon with food, drinks, gifts and a conversation surrounding self-love.
If this sounds a little woo-woo to you, I promise it’s not. Marian Mellen, also known as “The Zen Bird” leads the Heart and Soul Workshop series, which is a year-round curriculum based on 12 unique & soulful concepts including positive thinking, self-love, courage, change, creativity, purpose, compassion, acceptance, joy, peace, body image, and gratitude.
The workshops are held at Desoto Central Market and include brunch, gifts and all supplies. The two hours flew by and although I was a little nervous and didn’t know what to expect, I was really inspired by everyone’s honesty and openness. Marian herself is a wonderful soul and it’s so easy to feel open in her presence.
We went around the table and shared ways we could practice self-love, and how some of us feel spread thin. It’s easy as women and moms to feel like you’re prioritizing everyone but yourself. So we also picked small things and promised to do them on a weekly basis, rituals like a bubble bath or a glass of wine at night to refuel and remember to honor and connect with yourself.
You can learn more about Heart and Soul Workshops here and choose a theme that resonates with you. I’m eyeing the Creativity workshop on September 10; these workshops are limited and sell out so be sure to act fast if you see something you love!
Special thanks to The Teapot and Marian Mellen for hosting us.
