I get it, wedding photos can be tricky. Nobody wants anything overly posed yet sometimes, creative isn’t always best. Case in point, these 5 wedding poses that somehow became trendy when really, they need to go.
1. Brides in bathtubs
I really want to know who the first photographer was to say “Hey, jump in the bathtub and we’ll snap a few photos there!” because that’s natural…
I can tell you from experience that on my wedding day, the last thing I was doing was jumping into an empty tub in my wedding dress. I mean, what the hell…
2. Dudes in sunglasses
I get it, guys don’t like to smile. They want to look tough and take cheesy “man” portraits. But the guys in sunglasses thing has just got to go.
A. For some reason, there’s always that guy wearing the .99 plastic sunglasses from 1982 that sticks out like a sore thumb. If you’re going to do this, at least get nice matching sunglasses.
B. The glare. Oh God, that glare! I mean their eyeballs are literally glowing! Let’s look again…
Really, please make it stop.
3.Bridesmaid’s flashing their butts
What the hell?? I don’t think I even need to say any more. I would die if a bride asked me to do this and I’d never ask a friend to please flash her panties for my wedding photos. And if this isn’t weird enough, apparently, the men do it too.
Yeah, no thanks…
4. Jumping in the air
“We’re so excited, let’s start jumping into the air like children in total glee!” said no one ever. This is such an awkward photo to do, to look at, to be in, just all of it is so awkward. There’s nothing wrong with a great group shot where everybody’s feet are still firmly planted on the ground.
5. Bride and Groom kissing while everyone stares….
There are a few exceptions to this (I actually have one that I sort of like) but for the most part I think this: how often am I in a group of people making out with my man while everyone creepily surrounds, stares and smiles at us?? This is so weird! It totally reminds me of cheesy Spanish novelas where people cheer when couples kiss. That happens at weddings, and then never again….for good reason.
What awkward wedding poses do you hate? Did you take any of these that turned out cute and you really loved??
