5 Months and 5 Things

5 months baby 5 lessons learned
5 months! Oh my…..how time does fly…

It feels like just yesterday I was doing maternity outfit posts and wondering what life with this little one would be like. Truth is, it’s a daily adventure. And we all know how adventures are often full of good, bad and plenty of surprises!

Perhaps one of the things that’s surprised me most is just how much someone so small has already taught me. Here’s 5 awesome lessons imparted by my handsome little man.

1. A Smile is EVERYTHING

For baby Bash, there’s no such thing as waking up on the wrong side of bed. There’s no inhibitions about whether someone will think you’re a weirdo for flashing them a shiny grin, there’s just plain joy, cheer and smiles everywhere. And that’s something that’s totally contagious, no matter what mood you’re in. Smile just because, smile at strangers, smile…because it really does make you and others happier.

2. You Can Make Drastic Changes Fast

One day, toys float above him untouched and the next, he’s grabbing at them, swatting at them intentionally. It’s amazing how much someone can learn and change in such a short time period. So no matter what it is you’re wanting to change, there’s no excuses. Change can happen fast!

3. Time Really Does Fly

Tiny fingers and tiny toes quickly turn into Big Boy hands and feet. Embrace the moment because in the blink of an eye, it’s already gone….

4. There’s Always Time for Sillyness

Selfie’s with my son? Fart noises? Dancing like a total idiot because it makes him giggle uncontrollably? Yup. There’s always time for that! Let loose and have fun at least once a day—it feeds the soul.

Diamonds? Baby toes? I could go on but, you get the point….

  1. Great pictures! Thanks for sharing – my favorite is “there’s always time for silliness.” We need to stop and not take things so seriously all the time and have fun, because life is short.
