I’m feeling burned out. Do you ever just feel life burned out?

I work full-time, plus this blog, plus a few clients I still have from G&G.

I also have my family.

And friends.

Then there are events.

The house we are renovating.

The two back-to-back birthday parties I’m planning because my kids were born a day apart….

PHEW!

It’s time to come up for air.

When I’m feeling like this, I usually have a few go-tos to unplug. I’d love to hear some of yours too! Here’s how I try to beat burnout.

4 Ways to Beat Burnout When You’re Feeling Blah

Bye Bye, Social Media

The first thing I always do is disconnect with social media. I find it a little overwhelming at times and to be honest, I don’t love how it makes me feel.

Sometimes I scan too much and then I feel guilty for the time spent just “scrolling.”

Or maybe I start getting comparisonitis. And although I know I shouldn’t, we are all human.

So, it’s easy for this to be the very first thing to cut. For me anyway, I always feel better not worrying about what’s happening online. I very much have a love-hate relationship with social media, so this is no surprise.

Embrace Healthier Habits

Do you ever notice how getting overwhelmed and busy goes hand-in-hand with bad habits? Like, staying up late, drinking too much caffeine, maybe that extra glass of wine and skipping the gym. This always happens to me and I end up feeling completely derailed. But re-setting this is a great way to get back on track.

Hitting the gym, eating better, cutting the weekday wine happy hour always gives me an energy boost. I haven’t been the best at exercising lately and have been staying up way too late and it’s totally taking its toll.

Treat Myself

A manicure at 10am, a massage just because or reading a book during lunchtime can do wonders for your mood. I noticed I feel significantly more guilty about every little thing I do for myself after having kids. Is that just a mom thing? So I try to remember who I was before, things I would’ve done “just because” before I became a busy mom and just treat myself. Because if mommy is happy, everyone in the house is happier.

Get My Hair Done

Speaking of pampering, it’s pretty much impossible to be in a bad mood when your hair looks amazing! That’s where the mid-week just because blowout comes in–it’s an instant mood lifter.

Alright, I’m ready for your tips, please! I’m feeling the burnout lately and would love a little lift. How do you beat burnout when you’re feeling life overwhelmed?
