2016 HGTV Santa HQ

This weekend, we were invited to stop by the 2016 HGTV SantaHQ at Scottsdale Fashion Square. It’s become an annual tradition we really love, because you not only get your pictures with Santa, there’s so much fun to be had inside the Santa HQ!
This was also the year Sebastian was a tad bit hesitant about things. I tried to build some excitement beforehand and let him know all week we would be meeting Santa. I even showed him a few photos of Santa online so he wouldn’t be totally scared when he met him! He peered around the corner and didn’t seem to enthused but…he didn’t cry! We told him to give Santa a high-five, because it’s his favorite way to greet people, and even though he really didn’t want to sit on his lap we were able to get a few pics.
Santa HQ has something for all ages, like like the interactive Elf Ray vision app the older kids can play with and fun lights and buttons in Santa’s “Control Center” the little ones will love. It took a little bit for Sebastian to warm up to all the excitement (it was a tad overwhelming) but once he did he had a blast. We even had some fun with the “Elf yourself” iPad app.
This year was also the first year they had the Cowboys & Cookies with Santa event–it was SO crazy cute! There were free cookies and milk for the kids (in a cowboy container, of course) and a free goodie bag with things like a cowboy hat and a sheriff’s badge. The hat was Sebastian’s favorite part, and I really loved the fun photo opps. There was also face painting and free balloon animals, too.

If you’re thinking about heading down to HGTV Santa HQ, I highly recommend making reservations in advance! You won’t have to wait in line with grumpy kids and will literally be able to just walk up during your appointment time. You can make your reservations here, and it’s totally free.
Special thanks to HGTV Santa HQ for inviting us back to check this out! It’s always a blast and we look forward to the tradition every year.
