Retro Glam with Rimmel London

What do you think when you hear the words “retro glam”? For me, I think it’s someone way cooler than me. And as much as I’ve always coveted 60s mod looks, I’ve always found them somewhat intimidating. So when Rimmel London challenged approached me to play with their new ScandalEyes collection I thought, O.K. game on. I mean, who doesn’t want out-of-this-world giant Twiggy eyes and big fabulous hair? Yes, let’s play dress up please.

I know, you were just dying to see all my pores, right? Thank God for makeup! Here’s what we used to get the look:

Eyeliner: Rimmel London ScandalEyes Thick and Thin Eye Liner Lower lid eyeliner: Rimmel London ScandalEyes Eye Shadow Stick in Witness White Mascara for days: Rimmel London ScandalEyes Retro Glam Mascara }

I’ve never been one to use white eyeshadow on my lids, but it’s so much more wearable than I thought and I ended up really loving the contrast. Although you can’t see it in the last photo, we lined my inner lower lids along the lash line with the eye shadow stick in bright white, which totally makes the eyes pop. A lot of the 60s mod looks feature black eyeliner/shadow used on the arch of the eyelid; to update this look, we used a soft makeup brush to blend the black eye shadow stick. I wanted a similar effect but approachable for daily wear. After all, it’s one thing to see something on a blog or magazine and a completely different thing to take it to real life! A little winged eyeliner and some falsies is all you need to finish the look.

What do you think? Would you give this retro glam look a shot?
