Do you shake up your beauty routine when the seasons change? I sure do. While I don’t think it’s reasonable to follow every beauty trend out there (or buy a ton of new stuff just for each season!) it’s a great time for a beauty refresh. Here, I’m sharing the prettiest spring beauty trends and my current favorite products to get these looks!

The Prettiest Spring Beauty Trends

Pretty Pink Lips

I’m a sucker for a pretty pink pout in the spring, I just think it’s so lovely and feminine! My current bright pink favorite is MAC Lustre in Lustering. It has a beautiful sheen to it, great pigment and is moisturizing.

For something a bit more purple/pink, try Clinique Chubby Stick in Pudgy Peony. It’s a nourishing tinted lip balm that glides on oh-so-smooth and has buildable color.

I’ve also been really into organic lipsticks lately so have been stocking up on ILIA at Citrine Natural Beauty Bar. You can also find ILIA at Sephora. Once you try Ilia lipsticks, you may never go back! They glide on so smooth and I love the nourishing and moisturizing effects it has since it’s made with organic coconut butter. The texture is creamy and also good for you: it’s packed with antioxidants like Vitamin A and C and rosehip oil to help boost collagen production. And I don’t have to feel guilty about kissing my little guy with this since it’s non-toxic and organic. For a pretty pink nude, try ILIA in Nobody’s Baby, and ILIA lipstick crayon Dress You Up is a pretty mauvy pink. To sample a few, try this mini gift set.

Strong Brows

Big brows are still a strong spring beauty trend. If you’re not doing the whole microblading thing, you can easily spruce them up yourself with Lorac PRO brow pencil. I also love the Anastasia brow kit. For taming, try the Urban Decay brow tamer.

Glowy Skin

The secret to glowing skin is how you take care of it, not necessarily adding shimmer and sheen after the fact. I do switch up my makeup and skincare a bit for the spring as the winter dryness goes away. For an awesome (but pricey) exfoliant, I’m currently loving The Lancer Method Polish. I got hooked after trying a sample of the three-day regimen and although it’s a bit expensive, it lasts a long, long time. As in, it will probably last you a good year. It is a bit on the rough side as far as exfoliants go, but the results are fantastic and I don’t find it strips the skin or is harsh in any way. If you’re wanting to give the whole system a go, try this gift set for extra savings.

To prep my skin for makeup, I always use a serum. I’ve been faithfully using Olay Regenerist Microsculpting Serum but one day Target was out, so I picked up the Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Concentrate and am so glad I did! It’s light, fragrance-free and can be used as a standalone serum or under your regular serum. This anti-aging booster is the real deal (best price at Target.)

If the extra moisture in the air means your skin is on the shiny side, I recommend Ole Henriksen oil control cleanser. I didn’t love the fresh eucalyptus scent at first, but it does a great job mattifying the skin without stripping away moisture. And it works well for combination skin, too.

  1. I typically do not change things up. I do try to hydrate more during the summer to make sure my skin doesnt dry out.

    1. Trust me, you won’t regret it. I am obsessed with the ILIA line of lipsticks and you will be too! They are so buttery smooth.

  2. Thanks for the update Marlene. I agree with your serum comment – nothing turbo chargers results like a good serum. Enjoy the Spring colours – we are in Autumn here so our colours are a little more subdued at the moment (but who cares wearing pink anyway)

  3. Totally agree with you “ For The secret to glowing skin is how you take care of it”. A healthy skin is the first step to an exceptional make-up and look. Thank you for your tips Marlene.
